Grasshopper from Z Bar

A few months ago KJ said that the Grasshopper was part of his seasonal drinks, so I should get it before it got taken off the menu.

I was so glad I did, because it was like a boozy mint chocolate chip ice cream, which is my favorite thing in the world.  Not a crappy mint chocolate chip ice cream that you pick up from the store without any regard to the brand...this tastes like someone named Jerry or Ben had a hand in it.  I was actually sad at how small the martini glass was, because I wanted more of it.  It was like a delicious minty mudslide.

I'm actually a little sad that this is a seasonal drink, because I would have it year round with pleasure.  Maybe with enough encouragement we can convince him to leave it on.

Mojitio at @Se7enbar

Mojitios are a pain in the butt to make.  I always feel bad ordering one.  Thankfully my new friend ordered one first to alleviate the guilt.  She's about to be a new momma, so my first one was a virgin.  The second one I ordered with booze to compare.

Our bartender was an awesome laid back chick (I accidentally got her cute mug in my photo of the drink), and was cool about us taking our drinks outside to the patio.  She didn't even judge us when we came back in minutes later because we were being eaten by bugs.

The drinks actually tasted identical except for the booze addition.  If I was a designated driver for the night, that drink would hit the spot and keep me happily sober.  Both versions were incredibly tasty, and I would for sure go back and try what else they had.  Most of the time Mojitos are too sugary of a drink for me, but this one was the perfect amount of sweetness.  I'll for sure be back.

I know this isn't really a food blog, but I have to mention it.  While we were hanging out in the West Street Market we also had some dolmas from Niko's Greek Kitchen and some Ramen from Gamen Ramen.  Both were some of the best I've ever had, and now WSM is my new favorite spot for drinks and dinner.

The "Herbal" at Jüs

I felt like I had to stir it a lot before drinking
An impromptu shopping trip lead my mother and I to Jüs on Damonte Ranch.  Because one of my rules is that it doesn't have to have alcoholic, I thought that we should give it a try.

The location is really cute, with lots of (reclaimed looking) dark wood and fun furniture.  The employees were a couple of very nice girls that asked us if we had any questions about the menu.  They were super sweet the whole time we were there, great customer service.  I appreciate that, considering that in other establishments it is a dying art.

My mom got an Orangesicle smoothie, and I decided I should go for an original juice (jus?).  I'm not a big fan of kale or....well, other things on the menu.  I decided the safe bet was to go for the "Herbal" under the "For Your Brain" portion of the menu.  It stated there was apple, carrot, lemon, cilantro, parsley, and mint.

I'm a huge fan of lemon, cilantro, and mint.  However, these things just don't make me happy together.  It tasted like it was 50% carrot and 50% Cilantro.  If I concentrated really hard, I could taste the parsley a little.  I only got about 1/3 of the way down before I couldn't really take it anymore and I had to throw it away.

I guess I'm not quite made for clean living.  Now where did I put my double stuffed Oreos?
